FAQ03

Any questions?

Bean is a non-invasive, ultra-light wearable sensor that can be worn in most suitable locations on the body. It uses PPG, optical spectroscopy, motion sensing, and temperature sensing to surface wellness and fitness insights. Bean lasts up to 30 days on a single charge, then recharges on the included Bean dock.

Bean weighs 3.9 grams, measures about half an inch across and a quarter-inch thick, lasts up to 30 days on one charge, uses six optical wavelengths—red, green, blue, amber, infrared, and violet—and is designed for 100-meter water resistance with an IP69 rating.

Recommended placements include the inside or outside of the biceps and upper arms, the forearms, the upper chest while avoiding the breast and abdomen, the back, any suitable area of the thighs, and the calves. Avoid the face and head, breasts, belly, hips and other seat-contact areas, elbows, knees and other joints, feet and shoe-contact areas, and other very bony locations.

Bean lasts up to 30 days on a single charge. Battery life and sleeve life are separate: recharge the sensor on the Bean dock when needed and replace a sleeve whenever its adhesion declines.

Bean is designed for 100-meter water resistance and an IP69 ingress-protection rating, including complete dust protection and resistance to close-range, high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.

No. Each adhesive sleeve is intended for one installation and usually remains attached for 21 to 30 days, depending on placement, activity, water exposure, skin preparation, and other use conditions. Replace it with a fresh sleeve when adhesion declines or when you change placement.

There are six sleeve options: three waterproof skin-tone colors, one waterproof light gray, one waterproof dark gray special edition with special-edition marking, and one fabric sleeve that is not fully waterproof.

Every Bean includes the Bean sensor, the Bean charging dock, a charging cord, and a 12-month supply of sleeves.

Shipping is starting at the end of November 2026.

No. Bean is not a medical device and is not intended for diagnostic or treatment purposes.
